Senior Design Engineer / Technical Designer (POS & Retail Fixtures)
The Role
- Red Fox Create is looking for a detail-driven Design Engineer / Technical Designer to join our team. If you love taking bold creative concepts and turning them into equally outstanding realities, this role is for you.
- “I need a detail-obsessed design engineer who can convert 3D concepts into flawless technical drawings and manufacturing specs, with detailed Bills of Materials. No element of the design and manufacture must be overlooked or left to the factory to "figure out". He / She must be an expert user of SOLIDWORKS Professional with a deep understanding of relevant substrates and manufacturing processes.” CEO, Leonard Gebhardt
What you’ll do:
- Using Solidworks, translate 3D designs into detailed, precise, thorough technical drawings
- Ensure the designs that leave your desk are practical, manufacturable & that appropriate substrates and components are specified to the finest detail
- Prepare highly accurate bills of materials for handover to the Cost Estimator
- Collaborate with designers, suppliers, procurement, operations and manufacturing
- Ensure that your projects are consistently delivered on time and within budget, yet to the highest quality standards
What we’re looking for:
- 7+ years’ experience in design engineering/technical design
- Mastery in SolidWorks (essential)
- Proficiency in Rhino 3D and / or CorelDRAW will be beneficial.
- Depth and breadth of knowledge of various materials & manufacturing processes
- A practical, precise, solutions-focused mindset with exceptional attention to detail and an analytical thinker – driven to deliver their best
- Someone who is fascinated by the anatomy of things - how all the parts come together to perform their intended function, flawlessly, and knows that the devil and the angels lie in the detail!
- An individual whose work ethic and ability to stand firm means they are proud to put their name to every project that leaves the factory floor
- Strong problem-solving skills and decision-making abilities
- Commercial astuteness
- An open, positive, collaborative, adaptable person who expresses respect for the expertise, skillsets and diversity of the rest of the team
