Responsibilities

  • Receive and inspect all incoming deliveries, ensuring accuracy and quality of goods.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to address delivery discrepancies and stock issues.
  • Maintain detailed records of inventory, shortages, and spare items.
  • Regularly update inventory management systems to ensure accurate tracking.
  • Utilize a forklift for the picking and delivery of goods.
  • Organize and facilitate the transfer of goods from the store to relevant departments.

What does a Store Person do?

Store Persons play a vital role in overseeing the proper storage and movement of goods.

They manage the entire process, from receiving deliveries to tracking inventory and ensuring the availability of stock.

This includes handling all paperwork related to incoming and outgoing goods.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Basic IT skills with a working knowledge of inventory management systems and word processing software.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to work methodically and efficiently.
  • Strong time management skills and an exceptional work ethic.
  • Physical fitness, including the ability to stand for extended periods and lift heavy items.
  • Teamwork skills and the ability to work independently.
  • Forklift license an advantage

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum of three years of experience in inventory or stock control roles.

Education and Training Requirements

  • No specific qualifications required – relevant experience is essential
  • Further on-the-job training provided
  • Training covers record-keeping, inventory counting, stock tracking, and use of computerized systems

Reporting To

  • Procurement Manger

Probation Period and Evaluation

  • The successful candidate will undergo a three-month probationary period, during which their performance and compatibility with the role will be evaluated.
  • This evaluation will consider factors such as adherence to procedures, teamwork, and overall contribution to our operations.
  • Upon successful completion of the probationary period, the candidate will be transitioned into a permanent role with our organization.

Salary Expectations

  • The salary for this position is current market-related and will be commensurate with the candidate’s experience and qualifications.
